The announced formation of a provisional Serb parliament in the province is “regrettable” – said the European Union’s civil administrator for Kosovo Pieter Feith yesterday.

Kosovska Mitrovica: The Kosovo Serbs’ provisional parliament will be formed by June 15. The announcement was made in Kosovska Mitrovica on Friday.

Pristina: The UNMIK Chief Joachim Ruecker yesterday said that he would leave Kosovo after June. The UNMIK Chief also indirectly confirmed that his successor, who will also hold the post of the UN secretary-general’s special representative, will not have the same powers as him or the once traditional UN special representative.

Pristina: The President of the Kosovo Constitutional Commission and the President of the National Anthem Working Group, Hajredin Kuqi yesterday confirmed that agreement on the proposal was reached in the working group with both MPs and members of the Kosovo Assembly Presidency.

Caglavica: The Serbs – Milos Stojanovic and Milomir Stojanovic – from Gnjilane were fined EUR 250 for wearing t-shirts with the message – “Kocobo Je Cpbnja” meaning “Kosovo is Serbia”.

Pristina: The Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci yesterday said that the new Kosovo constitution will be valid throughout the province.

Brussels: The European Parliament (EP) in Brussels on Wednesday witnessed the Kosovo delegation appearing in EP under the flag of “independent Kosovo”. This was the first time this flag was officially hoisted at one of the EU institutions.

The European Union and United Nations appear to be deadlocked over Kosovo. They haven’t reached on agreement on how to act in Kosovo after June 15.

Pristina: According to Saturday reports from Pristina, 200 British soldiers from NATO’s reserve units have arrived in Kosovo.

The U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Rosemary DiCarlo, who was in Pristina meeting with Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu and Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, revealed that U.S. is negotiating over its role in the EU’s Kosovo mission (EULEX).
