Novi Sad: The founder & leader of the League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina (LSV), Nenad Canak yesterday cut short an interview with a journalist from Novi Sad daily Dnevnik and threw her out of his apartment.
Journalist Snezana Nikolic came to interview Canak on the issue of Kosovo. The interview was organized at Canak’s home at his request because of his impaired mobility since a traffic accident several years ago.
At one point, Canak snatched the tape recorder from the reported, turned it off, took out the tape and crushed it in his hand, and threw it on the floor. He then and “began wielding his cane and threw the journalist out of his home”. He accused the journalist of “using the same methods used by Vojislav Koštunica,” took the tape recorded and told her to leave his apartment.
According to Nikoli?, the question put to him was as follows: “Mr. ?anak, you state very clearly that these parliamentary elections are a referendum between Europe and isolation, which is why you joined the coalition ‘For a European Serbia - Boris Tadi?.’ But there are uncertainties among the members of the public whether you accept the policy of the DS regarding Kosovo when you entered the coalition. Oliver Duli? confirmed that for us in an interview, but this was later denied by LSV official Aleksandra Jerkov.”
Later in a letter to Dnevnik Editor-in-Chief Petar Petrovic, Canak wrote, he is “shocked by the level of dirty campaigning and the measures that its journalists are willing to take in the services of the Democratic Party of Serbia.”
