Jan Kubis: Slovakia Will Not Recognize The Unilaterally Proclaimed Independence Of Kosovo-Metohija

Belgrade: Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica, after meeting with the Slovak Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Kubis, said that Slovakia’s stand regarding Kosovo-Metohija is that Slovakia will not recognize Kosovo’s unilateral independence.

According to Kostunica, Serbia and Slovakia have very good relations, and Jan Kubis stressed that Slovakia’s stance is principled and consistent and that Bratislava will not recognize the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo-Metohija.

Kostunica stated that Serbia will continue its EU integration only in its entirety and that any agreement signed with the EU must preserve the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Serbia.

Kostunica said that the EU countries that recognized the unilateral declaration of independence by Kosovo-Metohija directly violated the initialled Stabilisation and Association Agreement and stressed that Serbia cannot at the same time be a signatory to the continuation of the EU integration process and Kosovo independence.
