Serbian President Boris Tadic and Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic were yesterday congratulated by French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner on their “great election victory.”

In a statement from the French Foreign Ministry, Kouchner “voiced his hope that a government would be formed soon that would unite all the forces that desire Serbia’s swift integration into Europe, by returning the hand offered by the EU on April 29 when it signed the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with Serbia.”

Kouchner underlined that France wants “the will that the citizens expressed on May 11 for Serbia’s EU integration to be respected.”
