The U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Rosemary Di Carlo yesterday stated in Sarajevo that United States hopes Serbia should choose European path.

Di Carlo stated that “Serbia has in the past years been a strong partner for the United States”, and that now a new government in Belgrade is awaited. She said that, regardless of who manages to put together a new ruling coalition, Washington will appraise them “according to their deeds”.

She said, “When it comes to Serbia and Kosovo, we believe that the Ahtisaari plan is the only good solution, and we are happy that Kosovo is implementing this plan.”
