SDU Rejects The Coalition Of DS & SPS

SDUBelgrade: The Social-Democratic Union (SDU) yesterday reacted to DS leader Boris Tadic’s speech to his party’s main board on Saturday.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the SDU stated that Serbia has no future whatsoever, if her government is to be made up of parties with completely different orientation, and “if the difference between lies and truth, crime and justice, evil and good is erased”.

On Saturday, Tadic called on the Democrats to support his intention to enter a coalition with the Socialists (SPS), a party founded and led by late Slobodan Milosevic. In reference to the former DS leader Zoran Dindic, assassinated in 2003, Tadic had said that both the Democrats and the Socialists are faced with the fact that their leaders “are not with them, and that both have their pain”.

The SDU statement said, “The SDU completely rejects the thesis that the DS and the SPS have their pain over the lost presidents, because Zoran ?in?i? and Slobodan Milosevic represent opposite ends of politics in the past 20 years, and any equation mark between their deaths represents an unacceptable distortion of historical facts.”
