Czech Communists Introduce Bill Banning The Recognition Of Kosovo’s Unilaterally Proclaimed Independence

The Czech Communist Party yesterday introduced in the parliament, a draft law which, if passed, would ban the government to recognize Kosovo’s independence, said the Czech Communist Party Whip Pavel Kovalcik.

According to Kovalcik, the Communists of Czech Republic felt that the unilateral declaration of independence of Serbia’s southern province clashed with international law. So they wanted to impose a legal ban on the government to recognize the Kosovo state. The opposition Social Democrats also want to prevent the government from recognising Kosovo, but announced they would not join the Communists’ initiative.

The Czech government in early April discussed the proposal to recognize independence of Serbia’s southern province, but made no decision and postponed the debate indefinitely.
