Belgrade: Rasim Ljajic, Serbian Minister of Labour and Social Policy declared that about 90% of employers are honoring the ministry’s proposal to hang up work in the open between 11 am and 4 pm.
During a visit to the public city maintenance company Gradska Cistoca, Mr. Rasim called up that the department brought out a suggestion and not an order, since there are no lawful bases for the second.
According to him, a agreement of unions and employers is required before any fundamental appraisal may be carried out.
Bozic-Trefalt, Director of the Directorate for Safety and Health recalled that there are no fines for the disregard of the ministry’s suggestion.
But, she monished that employers are under commitment to follow out other cautionary measurements, otherwise accusations will be pushed against them.
According to her, it is the responsibility of employers to give frequent breaks, work in shifts, drinks or other measures with the intention that employees’ health could be saved in such high temperatures.
