Pristina: The Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci yesterday revealed that Kosovo enjoys great support inside the UN. He said Kosovo support because of the policies of government, friendly relations with its neighbors, and cooperation with international institutions, KFOR and the new EU mission.

While informing the Kosovo government of the UN Security Council session in New York, the Kosovo prime minister said he had received the necessary support during his meetings with representatives of Latin-American states and the countries of the Islamic Conference. He said that his visit to New York had been useful as far as lobbying for recognition of Kosovo independence was concerned.

Thaci said Kosovo had been an inevitable topic in New York. He said the majority of members agreed that Serbia’s announcement of elections was illegal and that the results of those elections would be illegitimate and would not be recognized by anybody. According to the Kosovo PM, the process of recognition will intensify after the new Kosovo constitution came into force.
