New York: The “options regarding UNMIK’s role in Kosovo” are still being reviewed – reported a spokesman for the UN secretary-general yesterday.
According to Farhan Haq, Ban Ki-moon was still looking at possible courses of action, and that UNMIK’s status would remain unchanged in the meantime.
The spokesman for the UN secretary-general also disclosed that Ban had not sent a letter proposing the transfer of part of authorities from UNMIK to EULEX.
He said, “The letter has not been sent, the secretary-general is still reviewing options.” He added that UNMIK’s status remained unchanged in the meantime.
Haq refused to comment on Albanian language media reports in Pristina, which stated on Saturday that the UN secretary-general would propose “the reconstruction of UNMIK”.
