Pristina: Columbia and Belize have reportedly joined the group of countries that have recognized the Kosovo’s unilaterally declared independence.
Columbia’s UN ambassador wrote in a letter to Skender Hyseni, the province’s foreign policy chief, that Columbia has recognized the independent state of Kosovo.
Hyseni stated that Columbia decided to recognize Kosovo on Wednesday. Colombia’s decision to recognize was published on the Bogota government’s official web site.
Yesterday, Fatmir Sejdiu, Kosovo’s President, received an official letter from the Belize authorities saying that they have given their recognition to the province’s independence.
