Ruecker Will Leave Kosovo After June

Pristina: The UNMIK Chief Joachim Ruecker yesterday said that he would leave Kosovo after June. The UNMIK Chief also indirectly confirmed that his successor, who will also hold the post of the UN secretary-general’s special representative, will not have the same powers as him or the once traditional UN special representative.
Ruecker said, “There are indications that I will be the last special representative of the secretary-general. We’ll continue to have assignments in the political field and submit progress reports to New York.”
