Kosovo National Anthem Proposal Adopted

Pristina: The President of the Kosovo Constitutional Commission and the President of the National Anthem Working Group, Hajredin Kuqi yesterday confirmed that agreement on the proposal was reached in the working group with both MPs and members of the Kosovo Assembly Presidency.
According to the reports from Pristina, The Kosovo national anthem will be a piece of music without any lyrics, and will be called “Europe”. The proposed anthem was composed by Mehdi Menxhiqi.
The proposal requires the support of at least 80 of the Kosovo assembly’s 120 MPs. Slobodan Petrovic, a Serb member of the Presidency, has also given his thumbs-up to the anthem proposal. The anthem is due to be adopted before Kosovo’s constitution comes into force on June 15.
