Pristina: Saying it will secure stability in the region, the former guerrilla leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and former prime minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj yesterday welcomed the signing of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) between Serbia and the EU.
The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Haradinaj was speaking to reporters after a meeting in Pristina with Presevo municipal president Ragmi Mustafa.
He said, “We are welcoming the signing of the SAA between Serbia and the EU. Brussels and the EU monitor the events in Serbia and continue to keep an offer on the table which, when accepted by Serbia, will create stability in the region.” Mustafa also said the SAA signing was a good development, “which will positively influence Serbia’s recognition of Kosovo”. Haradinaj called on “Albanians from the Presevo Valley should take part in the Serbian elections”.
Last month the Hague Tribunal found Haradinaj not guilty of war crimes charges, which included murder, torture, kidnapping and rape of Kosovo’s Serbs, Romas and Albanians in 1998.
