Serbia wants the dismissal of European Parliamentary Rapporteur for Serbia Jelko Kacin. “Someone who has so openly stood on the side of the separatists and who does not have a balanced or objective position, cannot perform that job,” the Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Delic said at an international conference held in the Sava Center entitled “Ljubljana Agenda—For a New Phase in the Stabilization and Association Process”.
Delic asserted that he was sure that the EP had qualified people who would be able to fill that position, and that Serbia had the right to have its policies respected. He said, “The question of Kosovo is of the utmost importance for our country, and I am sorry that certain European officials approach it in such a leisurely way.”
Kacin said in Brussels yesterday that the meeting of EP and Kosovo Assembly officials had marked recognition of Kosovo independence, since the flag of an independent Kosovo had been on display for the first time at the conference. The conference on European integration in the Sava Center was organized by the European Movement in Serbia and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
