London, Nov 27 – Singer-actress Mariah Carey wants to have children in the new year.

The pop icon, who married American actor-rapper Nick Cannon last year, has hinted that they would clear their hectic schedules in 2010 to have children, reports contactmusic. com.

She insists that they are holding their plans till Christmas and New Year celebrations are out of the way because she wants her children to have their parents’ full attention.

“We’ve definitely discussed it (having kids). The only thing is that at this particular moment, it’s almost Christmas. He’s doing his work and I’m promoting and doing all this stuff. Right now is not the moment.

“My parents were divorced and it’s not like, ‘Oh, woe is me!’ A lot of people’s parents are divorced but I would just like to have a nice, normal life for that moment,” Carey has been quoted as saying. (IANS)
