Peanuts can cause health problems to some people. Peanuts allergy is a major cause of deaths in the world. Almost 0.5 to 1 percent people are afflicted with peanut allergy. It is pointed out by the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology.
The allergy from peanuts causes hives, wheezing and diarrhea in early stage. It can cause sudden drop in blood pressure and even death in some cases. It also causes asthma in children.
The children, addicted to take peanut rich snacks such as peanut butter sandwiches and crackers are likely to develop allergies due to their weak immune system in early age. Doctors want these products to be eliminated from schools and airplanes. Children should be taught how to buy the products. If children have allergy to some food, it must be conveyed to their teachers, school nurses, friends and school cafeteria.
People are advised to eat peanut free products to avoid allergy caused by it. They are especially advised to avoid ice cream and bakery products because these are easily prone to contamination. An allergic person should wear a Medic Alert bracelet and have an epinephrine injection in case of high severity of allergy.
The expecting mothers are also advised to avoid the use of peanuts as it is not good for coming children. A study conducted by the Dutch government on almost 4,000 expectant mothers has proved that peanut food is not wholesome for children.
