Teen Drinking increase the risk of Breast Cancer, says report

According to the study [published in the online journal pediatrics, the chances of you developing breast cancer if you have been drinking alcohol regularly as a teenager is very high. The study was conducted on 6,899 women from the time they were 9 to 15 year old till they turned 18 to 27 years old. It may also be noted that this the first study to have collected the data on alcohol consumption during adolescence unlike other studies which relies on the memory of participants for their teen drinking habits.
Researchers, at the Korolinska Institute in Stockholm said that although the result was concerning, a more in dept investigation was needed as to whether ot not multivitamins were safe. “These results suggest multi-vitamin use is associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. This is of concern and merits further investigation. It was worrying because many women used these supplements in the belief that they prevented diseases such as cancer. But the researchers stressed that the risks to women on an individual basis remain small, and a vast majority of multi-vitamin users will not develop cancer.”

According to the Time of India, Cancer Research UK’s Science information manager Kat Arney said that people could get all the nutrients that need from a healthy balanced diet, rich in fruit and vegetables. It may me noted that Breast Cancer is more common cancer among in 1 among 9 women in a lifetime.
