Women can adopt the wine diet for faster weight loss

There is good news for the ladies today! “New research suggests that women who regularly consume moderate amounts of alcohol are less likely to gain weight than non-drinkers and are at lower risk for obesity,” says the New York Times report.

The Archives of Internal Medicine published this study in its most recent issue. It also mentions that women, who drink moderate levels of alcohol regularly, reduce the chances of obesity by 33% as compared to the women who are teetotalers.

There are many other interesting findings of the research. The metabolism rate increases in women as compared to the men, when they consume alcohol. This means, you can lose weight as your drink!

Another fact is that, unlike women who drink alcohol in place of eating food, men end up adding the calories of the alcohol to the food they eat post drinking. I know for a fact that, if given a choice, I would choose wine over food at least 90% of the time.

There are some studies which also suggest that red wine exhibits the potential to curb the development of fat cells in the body of a woman. Wine also displays other anti-obesity properties when it enters the woman’s body. This just adds more to the good news for women!

The article in the New York Times also has an interesting segment from a doctor. The note says that drinking three to four hours before you sleep reduces you chances of weight gain and insomnia as compared to drinking just before you hit the bed.
