Striker Bendtner faces groin op

London – Forward Nicklas Bendtner from English Premier League club Arsenal said on Tuesday that he will have surgery on his troublesome groin.
The Denmark international sustained the injury in last month’s 3-0 derby win over Tottenham Hotspur and had been expected to miss around a month.
“I will have an operation,” he told the Daily Mirror. “I don’t know how long I will be out.”
That suggests the injury is a hernia rather than a strain, which could mean he is out until the New Year. (dpa)
