Ten killed in Ukraine gambling-hall blast

Kiev/Moscow – Ten people were killed Thursday when an explosion ripped through a gambling hall with slot machines in eastern Ukraine, media reports said.
The blast occurred in the industrial city of Dnipropetrovsk, the Russian Interfax news agency said, quoting local authorities.
It remained unclear whether the explosion was caused by a bomb or if it had been an accident.
Like in other post-Soviet republics, criminal groups in Ukraine often engage in deadly conflicts over gaining control of the gambling business. (dpa)
