Moenchengladbach, Germany – Former German international Michael Frontzeck has been appointed coach of Borussia Moenchengladbach, the Bundesliga club said on Wednesday.
Frontzeck, who succeeds Hans Meyer, will be formally presented later in the day.
The 45-year-old former defender played for many years in Moenchengladbach and was assistant coach at the club to Meyer between 2000 and 2003.
Frontzeck was dismissed as coach of Arminia Bielefeld on May 17 shortly before the end of the season. The sacking did not prevent Bielefeld from relegation, while Moenchengladbach just escaped the same fate. (dpa)
