DSS: Tadic Should Issue Public Apology To NS Official Miroslav Markicevic

DSS spokesman Andreja MladenovicBelgrade: The DSS spokesman Andreja Mladenovic yesterday called on President Boris Tadic to issue a public apology and withdraw his threatening comments made to NS official Miroslav Markicevic during consultations.

He said, “It’s an indisputable fact that during his meeting with the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS)-New Serbia (NS) delegation, Tadi?, speaking to Markicevic, said, ‘I too can have people liquidated’.”

Mladenovic stated that it was very important that the president send a public apology to Marki?evi? and “withdraw his threat in order to draw a line under this grave and undesirable incident.” He added, “In expectation of this apology, the DSS and the NS will refrain from commenting further on Tadi?’s threats.”

According to Markicevic, the president of the NS’s executive committee, Tadic had threatened him during consultations at the Presidency yesterday.

He alleged that the president, speaking of the election campaign where he had been labeled a “traitor“, had said that he would never have behaved in such a way, but that “didn’t mean that he (Tadic) couldn’t have someone liquidated.”

However, the president’s cabinet “vehemently and energetically denies that Tadic made any such threats of liquidation.”
