Did Tadic Shake Hands With Thaci?

It was the question that created a lot of hue and cry among the staunch Serbian supporters. Yes, the President Boris Tadic got under fire when a daily yesterday reported that Thaci had said that he had met and greeted Tadic at the Security Council session.

Thaci reportedly said, “President Tadic and I met and exchanged a few brief words at the Security Council session—me, in the capacity of Kosovo prime minister, Tadic in the capacity of Serbian prime minister.”

On the contrary, President Boris Tadic’s cabinet has denied the reports that he shook hands or spoke with Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci at the recent UN Security Council session. The president’s cabinet said, “That’s an downright lie. The president did not shake hands, communicate or exchange messages with Hashim Thaci.”

According to the president’s cabinet, the representatives of the countries not recognizing Kosovo’s unilateral independence had asked the Security Council session to be held behind closed doors, as Thaci was in attendance as a private entity.
