Anti-DSS Posters In Belgrade

Belgrade: The Serbian Capital’s downtown yesterday witnessed posters picturing three DSS officials and a caption reading, “They sold Belgrade out. Ask them for how much.”
The porters were referring to the formation of a city government in Belgrade between the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and the Serb Radical Party (SRS). The DSS officials in posters include Andreja Mladenovic, Nenad Komatina and Aleksandar Popovic, with their phone numbers featured on the posters.
According to Mladenovic, the fact that the posters were not signed said everything about the authors. It’s not nice to have your picture and telephone number with that sort of message appear all round the city, but that’s a matter for those who stuck them up, that’s there way of getting into the public eye.
Democratic Party (DS) official Dragan Dilas stated that he had not seen the offending posters. He said, “I can say that I know Popovic has just undergone surgery, and I hope that he gets better, and that as leader of the opposition, once [Prime Minister Vojislav] Kostunica is consigned to history, we can help build Serbia together. I really haven’t seen them, and I can’t make any comment.”
