EBRD To Back Up Projects Important For Economic Growth

Belgrade: Today, the economic advisor to the Serbian Prime Minister Milan Parivodic and president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Jean Lemiere has decided that Serbia should keep going with the execution of existing systemic reforms that are imperative for economic growth.
Parivodic and Lemiere granted that segments of Corridor 10 should be completed as soon as possible, namely the Belgrade-Novi Sad, section from Leskovac to the Macedonian border and Nis-Dimitrovgrad.
Parivodic said that in the energy field, the priority is completion of thermoelectric power plant Kolubara B and beginning of private proposal in the energy segment. He added that EBRD is also ready to back up expansion of the railway and of the securities market and the Belgrade Stock Exchange.
Lemiere alleged that EBRD will support novel employments in Serbia and projects in the area of industry, banking, development of the private sector, of energy - production, distribution and saving, infrastructural projects - roads and railway, plus water supply, waste management and transport.
Lemiere added that macro economic condition in Serbia is brilliant as the financial system is registering a high level of expansion and inflation is under control, and these are helpful signals.
