Cedomir Jovanovic, LDP leader stated yesterday that his party would do everything to help the DS reach an agreement with the SPS, and if it could not do that parallel government would be formed.

The Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader said, “If Serbia gets an anti-European government, we’ll be obliged to form a parallel European government to put constant pressure on the government through its parliamentary officials and spread its influence throughout the community, which will sooner or later lead to new elections, in which support will be given to the clear, European policies that we need.”

Jovanovic stressed that the LDP could not influence the decision of the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), but because of the situation the country found itself in, the LDP would do everything to enable an agreement between the Democratic Party (DS) and the SPS.

The LDP leader explained that an agreement with the Socialists would send the country towards European policies and away from anti-European ones “with which they are currently negotiating”.
