Serbia Resolutely Discards New US Draft Decision In Security Council

Belgrade: In his written statement, Vojislav Kostunica, Serbia’s Prime Minister stressed that Serbia resolutely disapproves the novel draft resolution anticipated by the United States to the Security Council as it is a preparation for the province’s independency.

Mr. Kostunica wrote in his statement that Kosovo-Metohija would not be independent and this fact cannot be changed by US functionaries and their daily declarations in which they angle for the province’s sovereignty.

It is crucial for the advantage of approaching relations between Serbia and the US that Washington should cognize that Belgrade will never agree to have a big part of its territory captured. If Serbia noticeably signalizes that its fundamental state and national interest to protect its territorial harmony is in proportion to the UN Charter, it is only normal that all states willing to continue customary dealings with Serbia respect this request.

Any country that tries to take Kosovo-Metohija from Serbia must understand that their communal relations will be aggravated. The clarification that expresses that the effort to take hold of Kosovo-Metohija is really an act of friendship towards Serbia is totally undesirable.

Such explanation is an insult to common sense; Kosovo-Metohija will continue an important and inalienable division of Serbia as it is written in the US Charter and the Serbian Constitution.
