Dulic: Parliament Meets Today; Speaker Will Come From Minority Parties

Belgrade: The outgoing speaker, Oliver Dulic, DS, said early today that he does not think a new speaker will be chosen at today’s constitutive session, for lack of a parliamentary majority.
Dulic stated that in today’s session MP mandates would be verified, after which an interval would be called. He said that he was almost certain that a parliamentary majority would be formed by the coalition gathered around the Democrat Party (DS), the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) and the minority parties, with the new speaker coming from ranks of those parties.
At yesterday’s consultations with party representatives, he said, the seating positions in parliament had been determined, but that this did not have anything to do with the formation of a majority.
