Belgrade: The Radicals (SRS) Secretary General Aleksandar Vucic yesterday announced protests in Belgrade over the date set for the first sitting of the new city assembly.
Viewed as the new mayor after a coalition deal for the capital stuck by the SRS, the DSS and the Socialists (SPS) earlier this week, Vucic stated that his party’s new partners will also take part in the protests. He said that the protests will be held “starting Wednesday”.
The coalition was unhappy with acting Mayor Zoran Alimpi?’s decision to schedule the assembly session for July 14. According to the SRS official, the coalition will take all legal measures to make sure the will of the voters is respected.
