The Spokesman and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the United States Department of State, Tom Casey yesterday stated that the U.S. opposes Serbian local elections being held in Kosovo on May 11.

Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vuk Jeremic yesterday said that Spain will not allow the EU to impose any conditions on Serbia regarding its position on Kosovo-Metohija in the process of its European integration because Spain has an identical attitude concerning the unilateral independence of the southern Serbian province.

The European Parliament yesterday declared that Serbia can’t hold elections in Kosovo. A delegation of European Parliament Tuesday in Brussels said that it would be completely unacceptable for Serbia to organize local elections in Kosovo.
