Belgrade – Former guerrilla leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and former prime minister of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj was acquitted of all charges on April 3rd, 2008 by the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) at The Hague. The Hague Tribunal decision has evoked strong reactions and criticism from Belgrade.

Boris Tadic, the President of Serbia, has said that it would be beneficial for the Hague Tribunal’s legitimacy to reconsider its decision to acquit Ramush Haradinaj, former guerrilla leader of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and former prime minister of Kosovo.

Pieter Cornelis Feith, the Dutch diplomat, currently serving as the European Union Special Representative (EUSR) in Kosovo, has said that Brussels will decide on taking over jurisdiction in northern Kosovo after May 11.

It was on Monday the Kosovo’s leaders scripted the new chapter of their history signing the draft constitution, which will declare the Serbia’s southern province as “an independent and sovereign state” when it is approved by their parliament.
